Selv-lede-lse

2015

Nick Bruhn-Petersen and Jonas Kjeldgaard Sørensen. Performance for video. 12m 11s.

Synopsis

The performance, Selv-lede-lse (Govern-mentality), begins when a man enters the room. In one end of the room is a table with different props displayed, and in the other end a pig shank hangs strapped to a pillar.

The man picks up a bullwhip from the table and begins to flog the pig meat.

When he is done, he returns to the table and on the opposite side another man enters. Mirroring each other the men start to shave. Once done the first protagonist exits and the other man ‘takes the stage’: He changes his shirt and puts on cologne, before he picks up the bullwhip.

He now walks to the pig and begins flogging it. When he is done, he exits the room the same way as the first man entered.

The video is a three-camera documentation of the performance made specifically for video.
